Outdoor Camping Session:Â January 2-4, 2015, Camp Russell
Northern Lights Winter Camping Seminar will show Scouts and Leaders effective ways to appreciate and enjoy winter camping. Learn how to choose appropriate gear and improvise on a limited budget, fire building and shelter building, first aid, meal prep, survival skills and winter hiking skills. Participants will be divided into patrols qith a qualified patrol leader and will spend one night in a lean-to and one night in a shelter. There will also be a showshoe hike into the conservation area to apply skills. Food is provided. *Participants must attend the December 13 orientation session in order to be able to camp the weekend of January 2-4.

Join the Revolutionary Trails Council for its annual Eagle Recognition Dinner, a gathering of Eagles and their families to celebrate those who have completed their trail to Eagle in 2014. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro, a buffet dinner will be served while the Council recognizes the young men who have risen to Eagle in 2014. The dinner costs $20/person, new Eagles are complimentary.

Gold Nugget Derby is for Cub Scouts in Lions through Webelos Dens to participate in a variety of stations rotating throughout the day to test their team skills in a variety of areas, all while enjoying the snowy outdoors. $5.00 per Scout/Scout sibling will get you access to the event, plus the Gold Nugget Derby patch slice to help you complete your Cub Scout activity pie patch. Extra patch slices will be available to purchase for $2.00. Adults are free. The Minute Man Meal will be available to purchase for $3.00, and includes a hot dog, chili and a drink. Hot drinks will be available throughout the day.

Join us for some great winter fun! The Klondike Derby is offered for second year Webelos Den, Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews. You will be participating in a variety of stations rotating throughout the day to test team skills in various areas. Each district holds its own Klondike Derby: ADK’s is at Camp Russell in Woodgate, NY and Powderhorn’s is inÂ Cazenovia, NY. If you don’t know which district you’re in,Â let us know.Â Don’t forget to bring your sled!
The cost for the ADK Klondike Derby is $10, which includes lunch and patch. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m.Â Â
